Natalie "Lexi" Sosa
Lead Teacher, Middle School Mathematics
Lexi holds a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Education from the University of Florida and an M.S. in Criminal Justice from Florida International University. She also holds an Executive Certificate in Global Security and Public Policy from the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy, graduate certificates in Geographic Information Systems and Homeland Security and Emergency Management from FIU, and a certificate in Social and Economic Network Analysis from Stanford University. Lexi is a doctoral student in an International Crime and Justice program specializing in white-collar crime and has taught several courses as both a graduate teaching assistant and adjunct professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at FIU and Department of Sociology and Criminology at Barry University. Her passion for psychology and mathematics led to her teaching AP and IB Psychology, IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (Calculus), and Algebra 1 at her alma mater: Coral Reef Senior High School in Miami-Dade County. She is currently certified in both Social Studies and Mathematics 6-8 and is looking forward to advancing her education by obtaining Montessori training along with Gifted and ESOL endorsements. With 11 years as an educator at the high school and university levels, Lexi eagerly anticipates exciting new experiences teaching middle school mathematics and is very proud to join the Sea Dragon family.
