Ms. Maria Torres, our esteemed IT Tech & Computer Teacher, brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for technology-driven education to Treasure Village Montessori. With a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the Higher Institute of Art in Havana, Cuba, Ms. Maria combines her diverse background in music and technology to inspire and guide students on their digital learning journey.
Ms. Maria holds various certifications that highlight her commitment to staying at the forefront of educational technology. She is a Microsoft Office Specialist certified in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel, providing students with valuable skills in these essential software applications. Furthermore, she is certified to teach the Computer Science Discoveries curriculum for Middle School, obtained from Florida International University and Code.org.
With her extensive knowledge and experience, Ms. Maria teaches Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) courses for Middle School, introducing students to key concepts in digital literacy, cybersecurity, multimedia, and more. Additionally, she imparts her expertise in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, enabling students to develop their creativity and design skills.
Since joining the staff at Treasure Village Montessori in 2007, Ms. Maria has been instrumental in integrating technology into the curriculum and helping students harness the power of technology for learning and self-expression. With her dynamic teaching style, she inspires students to explore, create, and develop critical skills that will benefit them throughout their educational journey and beyond.
