Grand Canyon South Rim – Arizona

Thank you for your support of the PTO Holiday Shop.  It was a success and our student shoppers put a lot of thought into the gifts they chose.

We will be having a holiday party on Wednesday, December 19 starting at 1:30.  The students will be singing (lyrics and music on the website, please have your child practice), followed by crafts and treats.  I am in the process of creating a sign-up sheet for needed items.  I will post a copy by our class door and also on the website.

Our class has an exciting opportunity on Monday, December 3.  We were selected from a large pool of applicants across the United States and the United Kingdom to participate in a virtual field trip for International Thwaites Glacier Collaboration’s Antartica Week.  We are paired with an Antarctic scientist, Dr. Rebecca Totten Minzoni, studying the Thwaites Glacier.  I’ve attached some links for you to preview the information.  Perhaps you’ve heard of Boaty McBoatface?  It’s the research vessel being used at Thwaites.

Our classroom received the most beautiful facelift.  Each of the square tables was refinished and decorated by Jocelyn Tiedemann.  She used various techniques to create these masterpieces and poured epoxy to finish them.  They are mesmerizing and durable.  The pictures do not do them justice, please stop by to see them in person.

Our Art Studio field trip was a lot of fun but I think the students enjoyed the park even more!  If you’re interested in going with your family, it’s the Children’s Rotary Park in Marathon.  Address: 7575 Overseas Hwy, Marathon, FL 33050
